Kyoto has not only temples and shrines but also new establishments.
This is one of those, Kyoto International Manga Museum.
http://www.kyotomm.jp/english/
The Museum has many features.
1.This Museum has been renovated from a former elementary school building.
2.You can read foreign rare manga around the world and translated Japanese manga in the section of "Manga Expo".
3.You can see directly the art of drawing manga (on Saturday,Sunday, and national holidays).--Young active manga artists demonstrate drawing in the "Manga Studio".You can see artworks.
And etc etc.....
I want to say more loudly :-) that this Museum has a grass yard, so you can read manga books lying on the ground when the weather allows.
You will be able to have a good time !
